Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy treatment involves:
- An assessment to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Education and advice regarding your condition
- Manual physiotherapy treatment
- Reassessment
- Home exercise prescription
Physiotherapy treatment techniques may include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, stretching, heat therapy, specific exercise prescription, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping and taping
Cupping
Cupping is a myofascial release technique often used with massage therapy. The silicon cup creates a suction effect to gently lift and separate the soft tissues layers. Cupping is an effective treatment technique for muscular tightness and scar tissue. Cupping can occasionally cause superficial bruising from increased circulation but is rarely painful
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle form of massage designed to assist in circulation of the lymphatic system. Extracellular fluid from swelling, surgery, scarring or the removal of lymph nodes can be managed with lymphatic drainage and specific exercises. Please note although we do not fit or supply compression garments, we are happy to work with a patients specialist and other health care professionals to assist in your lymphatic drainage requirements.
